Chico César celebrates the 30th anniversary of his album "Aos Vivos"
The artist presents the songs from his legendary album in a solo concert
In the year 1995 published Chico César his outstanding debut album "Aos Vivos". Thirty years later this album - now a classic of Brazilian music - is being celebrated with a special anniversary tour. On stage, Chico plays the album in its entiretyalong with other highlights of his career.
When it was released in 1995, "Aos Vivos" marked Chico César's breakthrough to a wider audience and took him beyond the cult and underground circle of São Paulo's nightlife. The album opens with "Beradêro", an "Aboio" song - a traditional singing style passed down through generations of cattle herders in the Brazilian Sertão. This is followed by two big hits, "Mama África" and "À Primeira Vista", which are presented in spontaneous and intimate versions.
The album then unfolds through a succession of original compositions such as "Saharienne", "Mulher Eu Sei" and "Clandestino", alongside collaborations and interpretations of works by other artists, including "Paraíba" by Luiz Gonzaga and Humberto Teixeira and "Alma Não Tem Cor" by André Abujamra. The recording also includes guest appearances by Lenine and Lanny Gordin.
In short, "Aos Vivos" is a true masterpiece, and the opportunity to hear it in full is unmissable, to say the least. To hear the 30th anniversary of "Aos Vivos" to celebrate, Chico César returns with a Vocal and guitar concert back to the essence of the original album.
